Tuccedo - To Touch You 1987 – Chart Sounds Ltd

Tuccedo were an extremely soulful UK outfit that landed a fantastic 12” single back in 1987 and have since dropped off the radar. Such a shame as this song is pure class from start to end. It's a sensual beat ballad with a quality US Indie sound of the time and still sounds a million dollars today. This single was not easy to get hold of on release, and when checking on availability was surprised to see how inexpensive the single can be snapped up for – but there are, I warn you, few copies.

Recorded at London's Easy Street studios, the quality US sounds came to the UK and vocalist Jean Paul Whyte supplies lead, along with David Henriques and Peter Laville adding their talents to vocal harmonies. With live drums, keyboards, guitar and sax this was by no means a cheap back street effort. It's a shame that we heard no more from this talented trio, and that the B-side was an instrumental version, offering us no more indication of what they could do. Still, this is well worth including in your vinyl collection.
